How This Company Got Started
It Started With One Honest Conversation in a Driveway.
Our founder, Jake Morrison, spent 14 years working for one of the big HVAC companies in Orange County. He grew up in Anaheim, started his apprenticeship in Fullerton, and worked his way through every neighborhood from Brea to Dana Point before going out on his own.
The day he quit was a Tuesday in August. 95 degrees outside with Santa Ana winds. He was on a service call for an older couple. The dispatcher had flagged them as a 'high-opportunity lead'—translation: pressure them into a new system.
Jake looked at the unit. Diagnosis took five minutes. The capacitor was bulging. Hundred-dollar part. Twenty-minute repair. He fixed it for $189 and got fired that afternoon for not following the sales script.
By the end of the week, Frost & Flame was born. We're not interesting. We're just honest.
